What is ISO Certification?
ISO 9001:2015 is the international standard for quality management systems designed to guide, measure and certify a company’s QMS on fulfilling a standard set of quality principles required by customers, thus improving organizational leadership and continually elevating the level of performance. Belonging to the ISO 9000 family of standards, ISO 9001 is the only standard in the 9000 series that requires certification. First published in 1987 and updated in 2015, it is used by government, military, corporate and institutional organizations.
The standard helps ensure that consumers get reliable, desired quality goods and services. This further increases benefits for a business, and on the whole, elevates quality throughout several industries.

The Global Standard for Quality
Published in 2015, ISO 9001:2015 is the ISO’s flagship quality management systems standard. The latest edition contains over three years of revisions and updates by industry experts from 95 countries. With over a million certificates issued worldwide, “ISO 9001:2015 allows organizations to to adapt to a changing world,” explained Kevin McKinley, acting ISO Secretary General from 2015 to 2017.
“The world has changed, and this revision was needed to reflect this. Technology is driving increased expectations from customers and businesses… We are seeing a trend towards more complex global supply chains that demand integrated action.”
